Massage therapy is an established and proven form of treatment for stress, pain, and various other health conditions. Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure commonly applied using hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm, or a device. Massage therapy includes many techniques, and the type of massage given usually depends on your needs and physical condition to deliver a relaxing and therapeutic massage experience.

Our licensed massage therapist offers a comprehensive list of different massages for patients of diverse needs and conditions:

Classic Traditional Swedish Massage - (Light Pressure)
Classic Massage or Traditional Swedish Massage is great for relaxation. This type of massage is a light to firm pressure, with a combination of long, gliding strokes and kneading to help release muscle tension and stress. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used, with full body draping.

Cranial Sacral Therapy - (Light Pressure)
Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, hands on approach to bodywork, focusing on the bones of the head, spinal column, sacrum, and the underlying structures. The cranial sacral system produces a rhythm similar to our circulatory system, and any restriction reduces or inhibits the cranial rhythm. Restrictions in the cranial sacral system are caused by injury or trauma, and if not corrected can cause dysfunction and disease in the body. You remain fully clothed.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage - (Light Pressure)
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of lymph fluid, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. By stimulating the lymphatic system, the therapist helps drain puffy, swollen tissues, supports the body's immune system, can help the body heal from surgery, and aids in the body's natural waste removal and detoxification.

Reiki Therapy Treatment / Charka Balancing - (Light Pressure)

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Hot Stone Massage With Charka Balancing, Full Body - (Light Pressure)

Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to their deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

Prenatal (Pregnancy) Massage - (Adjustable Pressure)
Prenatal Massage is specially designed for soon-to-be mothers and performed in the position that feels most comfortable. Side-lying position is typically the most common position for pregnancy massages. Non-deep, adjustable pressure. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used with full body draping.

Geriatric Senior Massage - (Desired Pressure available for 60 years or older)
Geriatric Massage is great for anyone at any stage of life, but is a form of massage catered for those past middle age, approaching seniority, or the elderly population, with accommodations. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used, with full body draping.

Therapeutic Body Work Massage - (Adjustable Pressure)
Therapeutic Massage is great for a real body work. The pressure is adjusted to your pain tolerance level, working the deep muscle layers and over any and all aches and pains. Combination of long slow complete strokes, trigger point work for any knots, cross fiber work to help break up adhesion, acupressure for any tender points, and kneading and myofascia release to work through the muscle and fascia tissue layers. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used, with full body draping.

Medical Injury Massage / Pre or Post Surgery - (Adjustable Pressure)

Myofascial Release Massage Therapy - (Light to Medium Pressure)
Myofascial Release is a type of massage that's great relaxing, focused body work, breaking up scar tissue, muscle adhesions, and general tension. Slow firm strokes are utilized, and both muscles and fascia tissue layers are thoroughly worked. This type of massage allows great body work to be done without the need to use a lot of pressure. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used, with full body draping.

Sports Massage Pre-Event - (Medium Pressure)
Pre-Event Sports Massage is an invigorating, fast paced, and firm massage that incorporates long strokes, compression, effleurage, vibration, friction, petrissage, tapotement, and lots of stretching. The massage is concentrated on the groups of muscles used for the patient's sport or event, and is suggested to be performed 4 hours or less before the time of the event.

Sports Massage Post-Event - (Heavy Pressure)
Post-Event Sports Massage is a moderate to slow paced massage that incorporates medium to deep pressure, compression, effleurage, petrissage, vibration, and range-of-motion stretching. No tapotement or friction is used. This massage can be adjusted to each event or sport and is preferably performed immediately following an event or within a few hours after for best results.

Russian Sports Massage - (Medium Pressure)
Russian Sports Massage is a moderate to fast paced full body massage. It uses a precise combination of effleurage, wringing, petrissage, friction, and percussion. The pressure is based on the client's optimal therapy zone; never going beyond the point of discomfort but reaching right to it for the best therapeutic results. The technique is done in distal segments to avoid the large collections of lymph nodes located in the center of the body.

Shiatsu - (Medium Pressure)
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of soft-tissue manipulation. In the Japanese language, shiatsu means "finger pressure". Shiatsu techniques include massages with fingers, thumbs, feet and palms; assisted stretching; and joint manipulation and mobilization. To examine a patient, a shiatsu practitioner uses palpation and, sometimes, pulse diagnosis. The techniques used in shiatsu include stretching, holding, and most commonly, leaning body weight into various points along key channels.

Acupressure Therapy Treatment - (Heavy Pressure)
Acupressure Treatment is similar to acupuncture but instead of needles, therapists use finger pressure. Along the body's meridian lines are points that are considered energy gates, and if your gates are closed your Chi (life force energy) can't flow properly and becomes deficient in other areas. Through the use of fingers (acupressure) or needles (acupuncture), these gates can be adjusted to promote the proper flow of Chi.

Reflexology Massage - (Heavy Pressure)

Reflexology (or foot reflexology) is a therapy based on the principle that there are small and specific areas of innervation in the hands and feet that correspond to specific muscle groups or organs of the body. In this system, the nerve endings in the extremities provide a “map” of the rest of the body. Examples are the base of the little toe representing the ear, or the ball of the foot representing the lung. Through the application of pressure on particular areas of the hands or feet, reflexology is said to promote benefits such as the relaxation of tension, improvement of circulation, and support of normalized function in the related area in the body. Shoes and socks are removed. No lotions or oils are used. Pressure is applied in thumb-and-finger “walking” patterns, resulting in gentle stretching and massaging of specific zones of the hands and feet that are thought to correspond to body organs.

Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy Deep Tissue - (Heavy Pressure)
Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which trigger point therapy, muscle stripping and friction are used to release areas of strain in the muscle. These areas of strain are called tender or trigger points and are the cause of muscular dysfunction. This type of massage is done with the intent of improving any diagnosed medical conditions or pathologies. Organic lotion and/or oil will be used, with full body draping.

Deep Tissue Therapeutic - (Heavy Pressure)
Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage is great for therapeutic-focused total body work. Pressure is adjusted to your pain tolerance level, working the deep muscle layers and over any aches and pains. A combination of long, slow, and complete strokes are used and trigger points, knots, or cross fiber adhesions are directly worked upon. Acupressure is also used for any tender points, and kneading and myofascia release is used to work through the muscle and fascia tissue layers. Needless to say, this is not the most relaxing or gentle type of massage, but is one of the best for the promotion of bodily healing.
